Snowmass Ski Trip

Ronni and I just returned from skiing at Snowmass and Aspen. A few days were frightfully cold, so we wandered around Aspen, Ronni shopping, and me looking in art galleries. One of the most interesting was Quintenz & Company, where I met Jonathan Martin, the gallery's owner, who also owns Studio 55, an Aspen antique and thrift shop.
Jonathan is pictured above. His gallery specializes in vintage American photos. With me being a photo enthusiast, meeting Jonathan was especially interesting and informative. Vintage photographic collecting can be both interesting and expensive.
I also came across a gallery run by a very nice young lady specializing in Edward Curtis' American Indian photography. I had never heard of Curtis, so learning about him was a real treat. Curtis made Copper Photogravure Plates and prints from 1907 until 1930. His prints are beautiful and widely collected.
We stayed at the lovely Silvertree Hotel in Snowmass Village. Pictured above is a 24"x45" view of the ski slopes from Brother's Restaurant in the hotel. The image is small, so click on it if you wish to see it enlarged. Also pictured is Ronni bundled up.
I'll be photographing some ballets in the near future, and look forward to sharing them with everybody.
